eKaiser E-cigarette Starter Kit Review

eKaiser is a brand that is now well established in the e-cigarette community. They specialise in vape pens and early generation e-cigarettes like the product featured in this review. The eKaiser starter kit offers exceptional value for the new vaper and provides you with everything you need to get going. The RRP is £14.95, however Amazon are currently offering it with a third off at £9.95.

KaiserWhat’s in the box?

Being a starter kit, you are provided with everything you need to get vaping straight out of the box. Included in the box is:

  • 1 x Battery
  • 2 x Cartomizers
  • 1 x USB charger
  • 1 x User manual

For those that are not familiar with early generation e-cigarettes, they have a few crucial differences from vaporizers. They essentially come in 2 parts; the battery and the cartomizer. The battery is just that, a rechargeable power source, often with an LED on the tip to indicate operation. The cartomizer is the part that contains the e-liquid, vaporizes it and also acts as a mouthpiece. The cartomizers are not re-fillable, so once the e-liquid has run out, you will need to discard it and screw a new one onto the battery.

Who should buy this?

This product is ideal for those that are new to e-cigarettes and want something simple and cost efficient to see if vaping is for them. Before purchasing the eKaiser e-cigarette, it is worth noting that eKaiser products don’t contain any nicotine. That’s not to say you can’t use this product to help you give up smoking. Indeed, many people have had success with this product. However if you are a heavy smoker, you may be better off finding a different e-cigarette that does contain nicotine.

ekaiser description

What is it like to use?

The main selling point of this e-cigarette is it’s basic design and complete ease of use. There are only 2 parts and no buttons to worry about. The device has a good feel about it and looks as though it’s been made to last. To charge the battery, you simply unscrew the cartomizer from the battery and screw the battery into the charger. The charger needs to be plugged into any powered USB port, so any computer USB port will do the job. If you often don’t have access to a computer, you can buy USB charging ports that plug into a mains socket for a few pounds from websites like Ebay or Amazon. Once the battery is charged, the LED on the bottom of the battery will change from red to green. A normal charge should take about 1.5 hours. To use the device after the battery has been charged, simply unscrew the battery from the charger, screw the battery onto the cartomizer and you’re good to go. It couldn’t be more simple to operate the e-cigarette, you simply suck on the cartomizer, which will activate the device, allowing you to inhale the vapour.

Each cartomizer contains about 300 puffs worth of e-liquid, which is roughly equivalent to 40 cigarettes. Cartomizers can be bought separately in packs of 5, with an RRP of £9.95, but can often be found at reduced prices. The eKaiser e-cigarette is also compatible with Cigware cartomizers, giving you more flexibility with flavours. To get you going, the starter kit contains 2 cartomizers, which are of the apple and strawberry varieties. There are over 30 flavours to choose from, with vanilla, grape and even pina colada as examples. eKaiser have put a lot of research into the formula of their e-liquids to ensure that they give a good combination of ‘throat hit’ and vapour clouds to make the experience as close as possible to that of smoking a cigarette.

In conclusion

The eKaiser starter kit is a great bit of kit and a must have if you have never tried vaping and are looking to try it out. It is simple enough for anyone to use and has a great variety of flavours to choose from. If you are a light – medium smoker, this could provide a great route to quitting. However, if you are a heavy smoker, we would recommend alternative products that contain nicotine.
